BIG to Track Desert Tortoises

Bentonville International Group has announced its work with the United States Geological Survey (USGS) to track desert tortoises in the Mojave Desert in the southwestern US. The company will deploy passive and active RFID technology to study the life history dynamics and population trends of the Mojave Desert Tortoise, which has been designated a Threatened Species by the US government. Mercy Medical Center Preps RFID-Enabled Gift Shop

In an effort to streamline inventory management, purchases, theft reduction and sales promotions, volunteers working at the store will apply EPC Gen 2 tags to items for sale, and read them using RFID-enabled terminals.
